Battleground California is the only independent expenditure effort aimed at winning eight competitive congressional races that will securely position the Democrats to take back the House from two years of Republican control. Battleground CA will invest significant resources targeting races in California where Latino, AAPI, and Black voters will be the margin of difference towards a Democratic-controlled Congress.

We will not engage in messaging that maligns communities important to the Democratic base (Immigrants, African-Americans, Latinos, AAPIs, Women, LGBTQ, Muslims, Jewish people, etc.) in our campaign communications.
Why we need battleground california
MAJORITY
California congressional races are critical for Democrats retaking control of the House of Representatives in 2024 and putting a stop to the radical right-wing agenda in Congress. In a year when voter apathy is high, Trump is activating his MAGA followers, and voters are oversaturated with misinformation, these races will take coordinated resources and action to win.
Infrastructure
Unlike other battleground states, California lacks a long-term state infrastructure apparatus for progressive groups to coordinate their efforts in critical congressional races. Battleground California is not a pop-up effort; it is a sustained partnership for stakeholders in California and nationally. This is critical infrastructure for California's political future.
Diversity
California congressional races and Democratic-controlled IEs have spent millions of dollars blasting the airwaves with ads in California congressional races. Battleground California will invest its resources in diverse communities and with grassroots partners to fill critical gaps communicating directly with voters on the ground and ensuring voting blocs aren't overlooked.

Battleground California is the only independent expenditure initiative aimed at long-term coordination of regional, state, and national efforts by organizations and individuals in California congressional districts. Chaired by individuals from California Donor Table and joined by individuals from Courage California, Communities for a New California, Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California VOTES, CHIRLA Action Fund, National Union of Healthcare Workers, Way to Lead, American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the Working Families Party, Movement Voter Project, and Inland Empire United.
